🎪 Camping Competitions – Info, Rules & Q&A
As part of Rock the Barn 2025, we’re hosting two exciting competitions for everyone camping with a tent, camper van, or caravan. Here’s everything you need to know!
🏆What Competitions Are There?
We’re running two fun and creative competitions:
– Best Tent Crawl – all about experience, theme, and hospitality
– Best Pimped/Decorated Tent – focused on decorations and visual creativity
❓What is the Tent Crawl?
Tent Crawl is a beloved Rock the Barn tradition where our instructors and jury walk around on Friday night to visit all tents and camping spots that have registered.
The jury – made up of our event instructors and led by the one and only Chuck Brown – will judge based on overall impression: theme, atmosphere, creativity, activities, and how memorable your experience is.
💡 Tip: Invite fellow festival-goers into your tent or area during the evening to boost the experience!
🏆 Prize: 2 free tickets to Rock the Barn 2026 (Note: tickets are tied to the tent, not to individuals)
🏆 What is Best Pimped/Decorated Tent?
This one’s for those who love visual expression! You’ll compete by decorating your tent, camper van, or caravan – outside and/or inside, with lights, colors, and fun details. Festival-goers vote for their favorite during the weekend.
🏆 Prize: 1 free ticket to Rock the Barn 2026 (Note: ticket is tied to the tent, not to individuals)
🤝 Can We Compete in Both?
Yes! The same tent/camper/caravan can participate in both competitions if you want – but it’s totally fine to choose just one.
👥 How Many People Can Be in One Tent?
As many as you like! There’s no limit to how many people can share a tent. Just remember – the prize is connected to the tent, not the number of people.
So if you win Tent Crawl (2 tickets) or Best Decorated Tent (1 ticket), you’ll need to decide how to split them within your group. You also don’t have to sleep in the tent/camper you compete with.
📝 How Do We Register?
Registration takes place on site during check-in on Thursday or Friday before 18:00. Head to the info tent and sign up with your group or tent name – you’ll receive a competition sign to hang at your camp spot.
⏰ When Does Judging Happen?
Tent Crawl judging takes place Friday night, starting no earlier than 23:00, after the instructors’ welcome presentation. Voting for Best Decorated Tent takes place Saturday and Sunday until 14:00 – all festival guests can vote.
🏆 Winners will be announced at the Sunday dinner.
📣 How Do We Get People to Vote for Us?
Use the competition sign you received at registration – your tent ID is on it Encourage friends, neighbors, and new acquaintances to vote! Be creative – put up signs, instructions, or offer a fun activity to grab attention.
